GROUP THERAPY

Parent-Child Group Classes

Communication Foundations is now offering Parent-child groups to children in Dutchess County through the Early Intervention Program. Our services provide children a place to play, learn, and develop the skills needed to promote positive social interactions with others and to thrive in any setting. 

Our focus will be to treat each child based on their needs, build upon current skills, and provide caregivers with the support they need to carryover skills in their daily routines.  

These classes are currently only offered to children already participating in the Dutchess County Early intervention Program. Please contact your Ongoing Service Coordinator and other Early Intervention providers to discuss whether your child is eligible to participate in one of the parent child group classes.

GROUP CLASS BENEFITS:

• Have fun with your child
• Meet other parents/caregivers
• Learn strategies to help your child meet developmental milestones in a playful and nurturing atmosphere.

Language Enrichment Group

Age Group: 24-36 Months
Led By: A Licensed & Certified Speech-Language Pathologist
Helps With:

1. Language Development
2. Play skills
3. Building relationships (children as well as their parents)
4. Following Directions

How We Teach The Children

Children learn through various learning modalities, and these will be presented through the following activities:

1. Music
2. Interactive story time and books
3. Arts/Crafts
4. Movement (sensory play and gross motor activities)
5. Hands on learning experiences

Group Class Schedule

Group sessions are 45 minutes each, once per week.
