Early Intervention (EI) Services
We currently provide speech and language therapy services in several counties. We provide these services in your toddler’s natural environment to aid learning and this is where he or she is most comfortable and functions the best. That means that he/she will receive therapy in the home or childcare setting.
Early intervention speech therapy sessions are play based as children learn through play. Play is fun and is a natural part of a child’s development. Play also creates the desire for your toddler to talk and communicate. Your child’s therapy sessions may include playing with toys, singing age-appropriate songs, and arts and crafts all while learning language concepts such as colors, shapes or following directions.
You are encouraged to observe the sessions and the SLP will always leave time at the end of each session to review progress with you, answer any questions you may have. You are a key part to increasing your toddler’s speech and language development.

Providing speech therapy service in the home may be a wonderful solution for many famililies. It provides the client with peace of mind that services will be provided in a familiar setting and allows the therapists to improve the functional abilities that are individualized to each client’s needs.
We have a unique ability to offer homecare services independently, as well as through several agencies. Regardless, we assign a specific licensed, caring speech language pathologist to each client, so a strong therapist/client relationship can be formed that enhances progress during therapy.
Language Fundamentals is the ideal choice to partner for your homecare agency. Our staff are located throughout multiple counties, so you can be assured that your clients always have access to an SLP.

Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of the Swallow Evaluation is an instrumental evaluation tool that assesses the motor components of swallowing for patients. FEES provides clinicians with data that aids in identifying patients at risk for aspiration and guides the clinician in recommending the most appropriate foods and liquids to a patient so that he or she can swallow safely. For more information, please visit our FEES page.
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation:
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (VitalStim) is therapy for patients who have trouble swallowing (dysphagia). It uses small electrical currents to stimulate the muscles responsible for swallowing, while speech-language pathologists help patients re-educate their muscles through rehabilitation therapy.
Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Program:
Language Fundamentals has speech language pathologists who are certified to provide this intensive four-week outpatient treatment program, which has been scientifically and clinically verified to improve the voice and speech of patients with Parkinson's disease or other neurological disorders for those who qualify. In addition to targeting immediate post-treatment improvement, the program focuses on developing skills for long-term maintenance.
Voice Evaluation and Treatment Programs:
Individually designed outpatient programs are available to alleviate voice problems associated with vocal nodules and polyps or with overuse/misuse of the voice. Treatment utilizes different types intervention including exercises tailored to improving laryngeal function, vocal hygiene instruction and recommendations individualized to each person's work, social, and home environments.
Programs that are designed individually are available for children, teens and adults who stutter. The focus is multifaceted and incorporated education regarding strategies to minimize stuttering while speaking, including speaking more slowly, and regulating breathing, while also incorporating environmental influences on fluency. Therapy progresses from single sounds, syllable to longer words and more complex sentences.
Clinical expertise at the hospital level of care is critical and Language Fundamentals understands the need for efficient use of therapy services. We implement programs that reduce the risk of aspiration pneumonia, which may result in longer hospital stays and HAC readmissions. Language Fundamentals provides expert clinicians to area hospitals that are competent in instrumental exams such as modified barium swallow studies (MBS) and flexible endoscopic evaluation of the swallow (FEES).
Beyond clinical excellence, our clinicians pride themselves on clear concise communication skills, conveying much needed information to nursing and physician staff.
